Phase I: Comprehensive Plan 2030

What is Comprehensive Plan 2030?

Comprehensive Plan 2030 is the first Phase of Brookhaven 2030. This Plan will establish goals and recommendations to guide the future of the community by holistically considering social, economic and environmental factors that influence the development of land, and the provision of infrastructure and public services. Comprehensive Plan 2030 will ultimately serve as a framework for consistent decision-making throughout the Town.

The Plan will allow the community to identify:

The current conditions

Take stock of the situation − What do you cherish? What are your issues ⁄ concerns about the future?

The desired conditions

What does the community want to be like in the future − What is its vision?

How do we get there?

What standards, devices and instruments must be used and implemented?

The goals and recommendations of the Plan will reflect an overall consensus of what is considered desirable for the Town and its residents in the future.

In short, this Plan will identify strategies to:

Preserve important resources;
Guide future development;
Enhance community character; and
Promote quality of life for the citizens of the Town of Brookhaven.
