Roles & Responsibilities

To best prepare for the Town’s future growth, Brookhaven 2030 embraces a collective process that relies on the expertise, knowledge, input and feedback of many:

The Town of Brookhaven Community
- Attend community meetings to provide input and local knowledge

Brookhaven Department of Planning, Environment and Land Management
- Oversee Plan development
- Coordinate intergovernmental relations
- Oversee and coordinate with consultant team
- Facilitate Outreach

Brookhaven Comprehensive Planning Committee
- Develop and adopt plan scope & schedule
- Provide overview of Town-wide issues
- Assist in development of public participation process
- Review draft materials and plan
- Serve as liaison with Citizens’ Assembly

Brookhaven Comprehensive Plan Citizen Assembly
- Help to mobilize the community to outreach process.
- Provide input and feedback to members of Steering Committee.

Chair Executive Committee
- Manage Consultant contract and project
- Communication coordinator and project expediter
- Liaison between steering committee and consultant

The Urbitran Team
- Perform data collection & analysis
- Develop & facilitate community outreach process
- Develop Plan approaches & recommendations
